How to write a CV for teaching

Here are the steps you can take to write an effective CV for teaching:

1. Write an impactful personal statement

Include a few short, impactful statements about who you are and why you might be a good fit for the teaching role. You can also mention any skills or relevant accomplishments that directly relate to the open position. The recruiter or hiring committee may look at this section first for an overview of your skills set, so make sure to explain your qualifications in a direct but brief way.

  • Leadership: This skill can help you gain the respect and attention of your students, present lessons and manage classroom environments.

  • Creativity: As a teacher, it's important to use your imagination and creativity to develop lesson plans that cater to a range of abilities and ages. Being creative in teaching often involves being artistic, being able to motivate students and improving their confidence.
