The example above is a great response for an office administrator position, because the candidate goes into detail about key skills that are relevant to the position, while also bringing up key achievements that were valuable to his performance in his previous workplace.

Project manager

My strong interpersonal skills have helped me build great relationships with vendors, developers and senior managers alike. I am also passionate about this field and I am driven to deliver high-quality work."

In this example, the candidate shows confidence and can briefly summarise how he satisfies the role's top requirements, such as team skills, networking and project management experience. Assuming that the candidate has already explained some specifics of his previous roles, this answer does a good job of reiterating his key selling points.

Social worker

"You should hire me for this role because of my proven ability to build and maintain strong rapport with clients. I'm passionate about providing care to people who are in need, which keeps me motivated to do my best work.

I understand you need a social worker who can make themselves available at short notice for clients in need. I have a perfect attendance rate for weekly case meetings and proceedings for my clients. Also, I can bring leadership experience to your organisation, having trained more than 30 new hires and assisted each one of them as they made the transition to their new roles."

This example is thoughtful and thorough. The candidate shows they understand the requirements of the job. They have included a quantifiable achievement and gone above and beyond by talking about their leadership experience.
