A lot of pressure to deliver in short time and always short handed. A lot of company politics. There is no support and training to improve your skill.

I worked as a VP in the investment banking division.Management is a bit too politicized / too institutionalized, which constraints some more entrepreneurial initiatives. The good thing is that most of BNP folks are nice to work with, yo uget access to an international network and a vast amount of internal resources, and work/life balance is better than in US peers.
Pros
Nice colleagues
Cons
not enough entrepreneurial spirit

Good work life balance as this is a European bank. Benefits are also good, with Vice President roles and above getting 34 days or annual leave per year.

The benefits are excellent but at a steep price. You will fight for years for small pay increase and likely never advance or get a promotion. Management turnover is substantial and the NY office lacks any vision for profitability.

BNP is a great place to work. They have invested a lot to improving work life balance by creating flex desks this allows employees the opportunity to work from home one day a week.

I was able to grow my career at BNP, however one will find the management can be poor at times. You truly have to believe in the work you do to keep moving forward.

BNPP is overall a good company to work for in terms of benefits and life work balance. it is hard to work for such a large organization and still get a global view. Most people only know their part and not how it fits in to the global vision.
Pros
paid time off, work life balance

It used to be a good place to work. While the bank has a decent benefits the compensation is very low and doesn't increase year over year. The bank became very bureaucratic with many layers of not-effective management.

I worked with some very impressive people during my time at BNP Paribas. They offered a great benefits package in the UK, such as healthcare, dental, discount gym membership, life insurance, subsidised canteen, etc.

Once you‚Äôre locked in, it‚Äôs challenging to get salary upgrades or that next promotion. There are certain titles that have an active ‚Äėwaiting list‚Äô of promotions. Management is sub par.

What can I say. Its the best bank to work for. The people, the atmosphere, the work culture, the products, the management. All top class. It was a learning curve for me. I became a complete banker only because I was a part of this Great Institution.

More productive if remote work was permitted lot of time wasted during commuting which make the day not so productive as it could be. More remote work and better compensation would make a wonderful work place
Pros
Freedom for work methods
Cons
Remote work restricted

Good place to work and great place for junior staff to earn a fair amount of responsibility rather quickly. The bank is committed to growing in an organic and thoughtful way through a variety of different products and markets.

It's a decent company. Management is not a focus of the company and it should be. Great vacation and good benefits. Once you are a VP moving up is extremely difficult.
Pros
Good work life balance
Cons
poor salary and promotions

BNPP IP is a decent second-tier asset manager, with strong presence in France and globally. The DNA of the Firm is clearly focused on France and continues to be so today. Opportunities are higher than in other firms, given worldwide presence; however the products/strategies that can be offered are sometimes a few notches below the ones of top asset managers.
