I worked as a VP in the investment banking division.Management is a bit too politicized / too institutionalized, which constraints some more entrepreneurial initiatives. The good thing is that most of BNP folks are nice to work with, yo uget access to an international network and a vast amount of internal resources, and work/life balance is better than in US peers.
not enough entrepreneurial spirit
The benefits are excellent but at a steep price. You will fight for years for small pay increase and likely never advance or get a promotion. Management turnover is substantial and the NY office lacks any vision for profitability.

Career is sacrified
BNPP is overall a good company to work for in terms of benefits and life work balance. it is hard to work for such a large organization and still get a global view. Most people only know their part and not how it fits in to the global vision.
paid time off, work life balance
It used to be a good place to work. While the bank has a decent benefits the compensation is very low and doesn't increase year over year. The bank became very bureaucratic with many layers of not-effective management.
What can I say. Its the best bank to work for. The people, the atmosphere, the work culture, the products, the management. All top class. It was a learning curve for me. I became a complete banker only because I was a part of this Great Institution.
More productive if remote work was permitted lot of time wasted during commuting which make the day not so productive as it could be. More remote work and better compensation would make a wonderful work place
Freedom for work methods
Remote work restricted
BNPP IP is a decent second-tier asset manager, with strong presence in France and globally. The DNA of the Firm is clearly focused on France and continues to be so today. Opportunities are higher than in other firms, given worldwide presence; however the products/strategies that can be offered are sometimes a few notches below the ones of top asset managers.
