Best collegues but poor management
Flight Attendant (Former Employee) - Hong Kong - May 24, 2022
Cathay Pacific Airways was a good company to work for before. But the management do not treasure cabin crew at all, they just want to cut the salary, pattern from the cabin crew but not themselves. Cabin crew had to suffered while the one who made the wrong decision were the management.
Pros
Travel around the world, best collegues to work with
Cons
Poor management

Good teammate
Flight Attendant (Current Employee) - Hong Kong - May 23, 2022
This is a very happy job which working with different backgrounds and nationalities teammates, we always have a happy and safe flight. The company provides not bad benefits but very low salary, which may not afford the cost of life. Lots of trainings, e learnings and updates, but the teamwork and crew life with colleagues are wonderful!!

Good inclusion and diverse company culture
Flight Attendant / Supervisor (Former Employee) - Hong
Kong - May 4, 2022
I like the company with clear rules and policy to follow, service goals clearly communicated, consistent service pledge. Salary can't catch up with inflation, making this job not decent anymore.
Pros
Nice working culture and colleagues
Cons
Salary and Benefits decreased

Nice colleagues to work with
Flight Attendant (Former Employee) - Hong Kong - May 4, 2022
Great to work here, flexible working hour and work life balance. There are also staff discount on flight tickets… and good medical insurance. The only thing I want to complain is the low salary

Good flying but negative culture
Pilot (Former Employee) - Hong Kong - April 23, 2022
Working for the airline has become less rewarding during covid. Fortunately very few pilots were let go but all were subjected to harsh and permanent salary reductions while management salaries reduced only temporarily. It is now untenable for a pilot with a family, especially at junior ranks. Very good safety culture but a negative culture overall. Good relationship with middle management but not so with upper management as a result of the above. Good airplanes and routes.

Poor management
Flight Purser (Former Employee) - Hong Kong - March 16, 2022
Ppl are extremely nice at the company, just the management is extremely poor. Cost cutting is the only thing management cares about. Does not respect contract, permanently cutting staff salaries by 40% due to covid.

Jobs at Cathay Pacific
Used to be a great airline, unfortunately no longer the case.
First Officer (Current Employee) - Hong Kong - March 14, 2022
Cathay used to be a great place to work with good benefits and salary, however with the management forcing all flight crew on to a new contract, that's no longer the case. The management really don't care about your wellbeing and are strictly looking to cut all benefits and compensation so they can boost their bonus for the year
Pros
Great Crew
Cons
Poor Management

Work life balance, great colleagues and teamwork
Flight Purser (Former Employee) - Hong Kong - February 14, 2022
It used be to a fantastic company to work for. It provided work life balance, you can choose your flying pattern by swapping with your colleagues. Also we could bid for day off for some special occasions. However, the management is getting worse now, underpaid and extremely high demand of the working standard.
Pros
Great colleagues and teamwork
Cons
Bad paid and poor management

Underpaid
Cabin crew (Current Employee) - Hong Kong - February 7, 2022
Amazing colleague here However poor management and always think for ways to cut cost Poor career development path , if u are a frontline staff, have to wait for 10years for promotion.. If u are an office staff, have to build good relationships with your boss, regardless of your performance
Pros
Discounted air ticket Multinational working environment
Cons
No career path Poor management

Company with good culture but dooming future prospect
Assistant Learning Manager (Current Employee) - Hong Kong - February 6, 2022
People-oriented culture. Quite some degree of flexibility (work from home arrangements) in certain teams/roles. Supportive and collaborative manager and team members. May be slow to make change. Limited salary increment, career advancement and dooming business prospect given tightening restrictions

Challenging but full of fun
Senior Purser (Former Employee) - Hong Kong - February 2, 2022
Need to work under stress with a fast pace. Every flight crew members are different so it will be challenging to have an immediate great teamwork. Most teammates are nice and helpful. Need to be very flexible about your working hours as you might need to get up at 3am for a flight and during the festive seasons, you have to fly a lot more without celebrating the festivals with uour loved ones.
Pros
Great layover in outports
Cons
The entry salary is low

Fun workplace as you will all types of people on each flight
Senior Flight Purser/Attendant (Former Employee) - Lantau New Territories Hong Kong - January 11, 2022
It was indeed a good company to work for since I was working with Cathay Pacific for 29 years. To be honest, if not for the pandemic, I would definitely continue working till I retire
Pros
Travel to many countries FOC, Legal number of working hours is 76 hours a month, one of the higher paid airline company in the world, a job where you do not need to bring work home. Job is done once the plane lands in Hong Kong
Cons
Jet lagged due to different time zones, There is no weekends days off or public holidays off

It's fun to travel around the world
Small Potato (Former Employee) - Hong Kong - December 28, 2021
It is a wonderful job for someone love traveling. People are cheerful and always ''can do'' sprite. However, management changed, as shown on News, it's no longer a top class airline. Worth working for few years to travel but not a good one for long term.

A great Legacy Airline
Pilot (Current Employee) - hong kong - November 23, 2021
One of the best Legacy airlines. Corona has been hard on the company but still a good place to work. Training department is very detailed. No corners are cut when it comes to pilot training and proficiency.

Fun working environment with colleagues
Customer Services Officer (Former Employee) - Hong Kong - November 14, 2021
The team work is crucial working in Cathy Pacific. We helped out each other to achieve everyday's tasks. Experience different situation every single day, never a full moment.
Pros
Travel around the world with discount ticket price
Cons
Need to handle unwelcome travellers when experiencing uncontrollable situations, e.g. typhoon season with flight disruption
