culture in cathay pacific might be difficult to adapt. Very strict on seniority. otherwise company very good to employee. From pay to benefits are top notch.
For this day age this company is the best situation I can have. It is nearby and the benefits are tremendously generous. The salary may be a bit low on the payscale but so far it is a very stable company to work for.
Solid airline where the money is good and you can have time off. Gives you ability to travel and see different places. Fairly inflexible in terms of fleet assignment.
low Salary
slow job promotion
everything is cutting and lack of sense of belongings as you work longer there
among flight attendants colleague is good but management people keep changing.
Pros
lifestyle and traveling
Cons
low salary and some people at office are old school especially Inflight Services Department
big company, good perks, good benefits
management try to work around rules when can't just try to play dumb
dog eat dog culture and management likes to see it
Good work life balance.
Excellent facilities such as great cafeteria, gym, restos, bar.
Good medical benefits. Get to work with colleagues with loads of experience.
As a crew, u can go to different places from time to time, can eat the local food, sight seeing and enjoy shopping.
Working in the cabin is a big challenge, dealing with different people with different nationality. Anything could happened, eg.. medical case, emergency issue, delay issue, etc.
The hardest part of the job is the jetlag, still very hard to get used to it.
Culture wise is fun, because I can meet a lot of other nationality people.
Pros
fun job, can go to different places, good benefits from company.
Cons
long hours working, difficult to taking care of the family sometimes.
I think the benefits provided by the company are good. There is sufficient communication with the staff. A platform is available to express opinions to employees.
Working hours are normal, there is not much overtime work, employees can assign annual leave on their own, and they can give enough rest within 5 days of work days
its continuous work with 2 short break and one with 1hr break.i learned to speak cantonese from elders.`time is so satisfactory.it has three shifts.there u can share your problem with foremen in any case.u need to work with no stop unless machine is stopped.but its refreshing and enjoying work.
Pros

5 days work
multinational working culture
strong company culture
Can-do spirit
Company image and social responsibility
Travel and fringe Benefits and company facilities
Pros
Company culture, facilities
good experience with cathay. i would recommend it shorty as an experience. you get to travel a bit and see the world but dont get too comfortable and stay too long
There is no stability
I started at this post very young. The training was the best in the world in the 1980's
Things changed for the worse over the years.
Pros
the medical benefits
Cons
lack stability
very large company but a surprisingly lack of red tape if you know the right people to talk to. Pretty informal with the senior managers always willing to talk to all staff. Very professional company and usually required to work overtime but adequate compensation is provided.
Cathay Pacific is a very good airline to work with. I really enjoyed my time working in Cathay. Meeting people and different co-worker, every times you go on a flight. Paid the stewardess well.
Pros
Joy of travelling all around the world and discounts on hotel stay.
Cons
Long hours and can be very dangerous, during turbulence flights
The job provides you opportunities to travel and see the world. Co-workers are generally nice, but the management sucks. They try to squeeze every single pennies from the inflight team, their ultimate goal is to cut cost. The most enjoyable part of the job is to see the world, bring your family and friends to travel to different cities, while the hardest part is the roster.
Start the day with the Financial Director replying to incoming/outgoing mail.
Check appointments for the day.
Make travel arrangements as required
Learnt to multitask and set priorities.
Oversee the performance of the secretarial pool.
Co workers are very cooperative and fun to be with.
The hardest part of the job is time sensitive. Liaison with lawyers during an aircraft purchase deal and Annual Reports.
At the end of the day whether hectic or average, colleagues gather together and have a nice chat or happy hour.
This company offers nice work environment, got a gym with swimming pool and other workout equipment.
Benefits are good.
Pros
nice canteen and gym
Cons
sometimes very stressful particularly during year end.
a good working pattern and offer a good benefits to travel around the world.
learn a lot of manner of customer services.
