The work place culture was fun and young. There was different age groups working with me, from an eighteen year old that just graduated high school to an elderly lady. Everyone at HM were friendly and felt like family. If you didn't understand the task you needed to do that day the management would clarify exactly what is needed to get done. Co workers soon became friends, so the environment at work was fun. I love talking to people so i would always engage with customers that would enter the store and greet them with high energy. Working in retail i learned a few things, patience, great customer service, multi task, and cash register handling. but the most important thing is making sure a customer is getting treated with a good experience overall.
I’m not going to say this job is easy because retails not for everyone. But I will say that management makes this job a nice ans Easy experience. The people who work here are fun and make the job time go by faster. It will require focus but it’s a great job to have. Understanding people and managers. I like it here
Amazing managers and good discount
Tired after closes
the people are not welcoming to new employees until maybe a few months in. Judgy coworkers and distracted managers. Training is two weeks long and can make or break your impression on working there depending on who is assigned your mentor. You're taught to do everything in the store (minus management things), which id good because it teaches you how to be well-rounded in all areas. Definitely the most difficult retail job I've had but I learned so much and eventually made friends during my last few months working there
I dont know if its just my store, but it seems to be that the values that HM stands for is gone. No moral in the store, most of the managers including the store manager lack empathy for you when it comes to emergencies and needs. Store manager is horrible. Extends closes to 2-3 hours! We dont have time to plan our outside lives. Oh and the AC does not work properly, it can get up to 80-85 in the store! that insane.
bad management bad hiring no safe work environment
H&M is a great place to work at. Management is great and are willing to work with you. It's an easy fast paced job. Have to complete functions for the given day. Greet and assist customers in their questions and needs.
Scheduling, team oreintated, great values
Great place to work with a large amount of opportunity but extremely fast pace and draining. Coming from another company into H&M make sure you play attention and work fast because they do things completely different from any other company but you will learn a lot that you can always take to another company if you need to.
We want to help you find great companies. Help us be the best!
Do these reviews help you learn more about working at H&M?
One of the most upbeat work environment I've ever worked in. Managers and shift supervisors took the time to get to know each of the employees, and also sought advice for employees on how to make work more productive and enjoyable for everyone. They also give the opportunity for you to grow within the company, they never expect anyone to just stay at the staring sales associate position. Unfortunately, The position I was offered was only seasonal, and because people were constantly coming and going from that particular store I was let go.
Long breaks, Flexible schedule
A typical day at work as a staff member at H&M required a lot of customer service, memorization of the product placement, and handling sales of three thousand dollars an hour. There is constant communication with supervisors and staff members, brainstorming on how to better the shoping experience of the guest.
