professional working environment

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
The contract staff is not with a good benefit and long working hour, fast paced working environment, politics and not open-minded enough, but the staff there are with professional mind-set.

Redundant and overlapped positions/departments

It is a bank with many political issues, not care about the career development and the talent of the employee. Many redundant and overlapped positions/departments which make work inefficient. The bank has a solid foundation but the management and culture are not good as expected.

Friendly Environment Overall

Both environment and compensation are reasonable. In terms of culture, it is conservative. Different departments are of their own directions rather than a collaborative effort and that's probably the difficult part of the job.

A few words about me

Like in life, variety and challenge are key drivers I look for in a job and a prospective employer. Ability to be creative and drive change through efficiency are what gets me up in the morning. Keeping an operational process relevant to regulation and fit for purpose is more important today than it has ever been as regulators continue to open the bonnet and poke around. My flexibility as an individual contributor or in a collective group has been the corner stone of my success.

Working opinion

Recently, Risk Management becomes most important and a new task for any business. It changes our previous working model and implements more risk measurement/control at our daily working. Under the measurement and control, our working becomes more complex than before.

Pros

Reduce fault and error

Cons

work becomes more complex and pressure under straight controls

Huge organisation, good fringe benefit

It's a huge organisation where you have chances to work with different teams and people in and outside of Hong Kong but since it is too big you might find it hard to navigate in the corporation and working in silo is expected. Very good fringe benefit to employees.

As an intern the job can vary a lot - it all depends on which department you are put under and the team you work with. All teams are very diverse and multicultural and it is great to work with people from all over.
