Relaxed and can choose your hours, but no holiday pay, and the company is hard to communicate with unless you are fluent in Mandarin.

Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeediTutor is great if you are studying or need supplemental income. However, I would not choose them as a career choice as working for this company can be very confusing - but hey, if you like a circus, go for it.

Good online work
ESL Teacher (Current Employee) - HONG KONG, HK - November 18, 2021
The company is great. The pay is good. They pay on time every month. They offer training and based on your rating, you can teach specialized classes such as the Disney courses or OUP (Oxford university press) courses. This company also books your open slot for you.
Pros
Classes are booked for you, no need to market yourself like other platforms
Cons
Students are allowed to rate teachers. Sometimes the ratings are false

Good company
Online EFL Teacher (Former Employee) - Hong Kong, HK - August 30, 2021
Good and simple teaching platform. Very flexible and fair cancellation policy. Responsive management. If you respect their rules, they will respect you. From time to time you will have to deal with rude parents. Teaching adults was hard especially when you teach a group of adults and since you will mostly teach them for the first time it will be hard to determine their level. In general, it's not bad and not perfect. They paid salary regularly but the salary was extremely low. In December 2020 they released many teachers even teachers who worked for them for 10-15 years. Management should respect their seniors more because they were the one who build the company.
Pros
flexibility
Cons
students rating, low salary, job security

Modern Slavery
Online Consultant (Former Employee) - Hong Kong, CH - November 24, 2020
This company has some rules and guidelines that prevent you from moving from one place to another. E.g: If you live in the US and want to move to Ecuador, they will drastically lowered your pay. Salaries are not according to qualifications, but location. On the other hand, they support clients only and whatever they say will always stand no matter if you're right or not. The staff is not supportive either and has some shady practices when it comes about contracts and policies. To be honest, they don't care much about you and they will usually win in any dispute.
Pros
Able to manage your own time and easy to use virtual classroom
Cons
Lesson plans are not well-structured and some mistakes, bad management, not supportive staff, no promotions or incentives.

Productive and reliable with payment
English Teacher for Young Learners and Adults (Current Employee) - Hong Kong, HK - July 27, 2019
Every company has their downside but I tend to only look at the positive sides of things, hence I'd say iTutorGroup is not a bad company to work with.

Great Experience but Unsustainable Long Term Employment
Tutor (Former Employee) - HK, HK - April 11, 2019
iTutorgroup gives you the chance to connect with students from around the world while sharing Standard American English language skills. The company provides the curriculum, lesson plans, and training. However, I feel their expectations of tutors do not match with the compensation, making the job less appealing. Some expectations include requiring uniform, props, and backdrops paid out-of-pocket, not by the company themselves. A great experience but not recommended for long term.

Native Speaker English Tutor
Online English Teacher (Current Employee) - Hong Kong, HK - March 12, 2019
-Great to do while traveling(digital nomad)
-boring work, it saps your energy
-tech problems sometimes
-If you interview in another country they will go off that wage, for example someone offered a job in U.S will get a very different salary if they are traveling in Southeast Asia during the time of the offer(so get a VPN or do the interview in your country
Pros
Decent money, travel freedom
Cons
bad management
