  • May 17th is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia, an opportunity for us to recognise, reflect and take action against the discrimination, stigma and violence the LGBTQ+ community collectively faces. .

It's significant as it marks 30 years since the @who decided to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder. This might inspire a sense of pride for what has been achieved in this time, perhaps witnessing or experiencing a positive shift in attitudes, behaviours and legislation over recent years. .

For many, it's still apparent that globally there's progress still to be made. As of 2019, over 70 countries still criminalise same-sex conduct, and only 27% of UN member states have broad protection policies in place for sexual minorities. 
#IDAHOBIT calls for the global attention of decision makers, media, corporations and the public, to facilitate a society in which all can live without fear of discrimination, based on their sexual identity. .
