Visiting Lecturer in Kwai Hing, Hong Kong
on May 1, 2020
A workplace that is able to involve different kinds of people with different background to come across the important of health and safety at work.
Working in the university as lecturer can meet people and change their attitude in health and safety at work and to stress how important "workplace safety" is, i.e. from personal safety point of view, economic point of view, family point of view, and it will affect the community apparently. The work as OHS lecturer is amazing and it does help people to care their day-to-day operation, in particular the management staff who needs to consider the issue with risk management which covered the protection of the company assets and most importance is the protection of "people". The hardest part of the job is to change people's attitude since individual differences are the major task to tackle but it is really interesting to come across the difficulty and you will find it the enjoyable part of the job.

Stable Job
Working at OpenU is very stable. While its package and benefits are above average, its working culture is not as good as the private sector because it is very bureaucratic. It is like working in the government.

A perspective to view
It is a smaller university in HK. But it does not mean its potentials is smaller. There are many things not established yet. As long as there is a clear vision and a really right management team to lead, it has the potential to gain its unique position in academic over time.
