Essentials to Work
Indeed’s mission is to help all people get jobs. Every day we connect millions of people to new opportunities, but we know that some people face unfair barriers to finding the right job. We have made a commitment to helping 30M job seekers facing barriers get hired by 2030.
Indeed’s Essentials to Work program aims to provide critical resources to job seekers in the U.S. who need them most.
Numbers at a glance
Indeed has enlisted the help of community organizations to distribute tech devices, transportation, and record clearing services to job seekers facing barriers across the United States.
With Essentials to Work, thousands of job seekers have been able to create Indeed accounts and resumes, complete interviews through the job site, receive support setting up email addresses, find additional job readiness services and more.

No-cost computers for those eligible
Since 2022, we have partnered with PCs for People to distribute no-cost laptops, PCs, and hotspots to job seekers who need them. With the help of over 140 community organizations across the U.S., we have distributed devices to over 21,000 job seekers. We are continuing to explore ways Indeed can get more devices into the hands of job seekers who need them most.
Free rides in select cities
Through our partnership with Lyft, job seekers in select cities have been eligible for help with transportation to job training programs, interviews, rides to new jobs for up to the first three weeks, and record-clearing appointments with a lawyer or the court.
Get help clearing your record
Job seekers in select cities may reach out to one of our partners to explore if they are eligible to have their record cleared. (Please note: some partners use the terms “expungement,” “non-disclosure,” or “record sealing” in place of “record clearing”.)
