You are a strategic thinker, well organized and passionate to drive different strategic product development projects for the region. You are part of the team to make significant contribution to grow our APAC business.
As a Vice President in the Product Development Team, you are a strategic product developer and will work with APAC product developers and senior leaders in the region to facilitate strategic product development initiatives that extend beyond specific new funds, changes and enhancements. Demonstrating strategic thinking, great attention to details, excellent communication and project coordination skills, you will participate in a lot of local and global discussion across different functions in the asset management business, with a focus on developing proposals and driving strategic initiatives forward with key stakeholders.
In addition to strategic product development projects, you will also involve in some local product development work across the APAC region and have more in-depth discussion with Sales and Portfolio Management teams. Reporting to the APAC, Head of Product Development, you will be based in our Hong Kong office. If you have a passion to drive strategic product development projects and have strong understanding of investment funds and regulations, you may be a good fit for our team.
Job responsibilities
- Monitor product changes and regulatory developments impacting APAC Product Development or fund offering documents; coordinate cross-functional impact assessments, formulate recommendations, and provide clear status updates to stakeholders.
- Partner with Product Development and Product Strategy teams in the Americas and EMEA to deliver global product development initiatives.
- Support product range reviews by identifying product gaps and opportunities, leveraging market and regulatory trends, and assessing commercial viability across the local product range.
- Coordinate materials and agendas for regional product governance forums and management reporting; present new product initiatives to local/regional (and, as needed, global) product committees.
- Embed global and regional best practices across APAC Product Development and continuously enhance product governance frameworks and processes.
- Develop program charters, business cases, project plans, and governance models to enable effective delivery and oversight.
- Coordinate APAC Product Development participation in control testing and internal audits, and produce regional/global Product Development reporting.
- Drive the APAC Product Development technology agenda, including prioritisation and execution of related initiatives.
- Organize team meetings and knowledge transfer sessions as needed for APAC Strategy & Product Development and the extended team.
- Support ad hoc projects and initiatives as required.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Solid understanding of business and management functions in Asset Management and/or related financial services industries
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with stakeholders in different functions in APAC and EMEA/US, with the ability and confidence to engage dialogue with senior management
- Comfort with ambiguity; proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with shifting timelines and demands
- Experience in driving strategic projects in large organization with strong project management skill
- Highly proficient in the use of MS Office, in particular PowerPoint and Excel
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Cantonese/Mandarin
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience in participating in UAT testing of new IT system to clearly articulate the business needs
- Relevant professional qualifications such as CFA
