Job Title: Market Head (General Manager level) International Office (Hong Kong Based)

Reporting To: Executive Vice President

Location: Hong Kong

Department: International Division

Our client is a leading listed consumer hygiene company in Hong Kong with over HKD 20 billion in annual turnover. With a dominant market position in Greater China, the company is now accelerating its global expansion, leveraging Hong Kong as a strategic bridgehead to drive growth into Southeast Asia and beyond.

Job Purpose

Act as the strategic bridgehead for the company's global expansion. Based in Hong Kong, you will lead the Hong Kong team to translate the company's domestic success into new growth in Hong Kong, and support growth in Malaysia, Singapore, and other key markets. You will be fully responsible for formulating and executing the international business strategy to drive market development, operational excellence, and brand building, ultimately achieving the company's global growth targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Business Development

o Develop and execute the international business strategy, identifying and prioritizing new market opportunities, with a primary focus on Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Southeast Asia.

o Lead market entry initiatives, exploring and establishing diversified cooperation models (e.g., JVs, channel partnerships, local production).

o Drive brand building in target markets through integrated marketing strategies to enhance global brand presence.

Operational & P&L Management

o Oversee the daily operations of the Hong Kong operation, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with group strategy.

o Leverage the group's China and Malaysia supply chain and product advantages to boost operational competitiveness in new markets.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

o Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing, cross-functional international team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high achievement.

o Act as the primary liaison between the Hong Kong office and headquarters in China, ensuring seamless resource allocation, communication, and strategic alignment.

o Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key external partners, including distributors, government bodies, and industry associations.

Risk & Compliance

o Identify and mitigate potential risks related to geopolitics, finance, and legal compliance in all overseas operations.

o Ensure all business activities adhere to local laws, international trade norms, and company policies.

Reporting

o Regularly report on market dynamics, strategic progress, and operational performance to senior management, providing data-driven insights and recommendations.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years in sales/marketing within the FMCG or consumer goods sector, with at least 5 years in senior management leading overseas market expansion.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in developing new markets (Southeast Asia experience is a strong plus) and managing P&L. Experience with cross-border business integration or partnerships is highly desirable.
  • International Exposure (Highly Valued): Candidates with overseas working or studying experience, particularly within the consumer sector, are strongly preferred. This includes direct experience understanding foreign consumer behavior, retail landscapes, and market nuances.
  • Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze global market trends and translate them into actionable strategies.
  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with proven ability to manage cross-cultural teams and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Language: Fluent in English and Mandarin (to liaise effectively with headquarters). Proficiency in Cantonese or other regional languages is an advantage.
  • Personal Traits: Highly self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable, with a strong sense of integrity and a willingness to travel frequently.
