Role Introduction

Reports to: Occupational Health Manager

As part of the Group Medical Department, you will join our Occupational Health team who is dedicated to supporting employees' healthcare needs, medical benefits provision, occupational health and safety standards, fitness-for-duty assessments, and attendance management to promote employee wellbeing and workplace safety.

In this role, you will support the Company in developing and implementing occupational health policies and programmes that promote employee health, wellbeing, and workplace safety. This includes areas such as medical benefits, fitness-for-duty assessments, return-to-work planning, absence management, occupational health and safety, employee wellbeing initiatives, and public health programmes.

The ideal candidate will be someone from a clinical background with strong analytical and communications skills who is keen to get into an extensive advisory role with exposure to the aviation industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject-matter-expert to work closely with various stakeholders to advise on OH related programmes such as medical benefit planning & support, emergency & accident planning, and health promotion
  • Provide OH related advice and recommendations to other business units, e.g. Inflight Services Department, on individual cases on the end-to-end absence management process to enable early intervention and return to work
  • Coordinate pre-employment examinations and fitness-for-duty assessments to ensure applicants and employees meet applicable aviation medical requirements set by regulatory authorities, such as the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD)
  • Develop and review procedures for in-flight medical incidents, including Inflight Medical Provisions, e.g. inflight medical kits, first-aid kits, inflight medical assistance protocols, and water and food hygiene monitoring
  • Support pandemic and infectious outbreak management
  • Support passenger services such as accommodations for passengers with disabilities, passenger complaint management and investigation, etc.
  • Support the implementation of Company Alcohol and Others Drugs (AOD) Programme in compliance with HKCAD 373
  • Support the coordination and development of Company wellbeing events.


Requirements

  • 5 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in diverse fields across Internal Medicine, Coronary Care, and Emergency Medicine. Candidates with less experience are also welcomed to apply
  • Previous experience in occupational medicine, medical insurance administration or employee wellbeing is preferred
  • Valid license in Hong Kong and/or with knowledge of healthcare delivery system in Hong Kong is a plus
  • Overseas medical training and work experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with an advisory mindset
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English. Spoken and written Chinese (Cantonese and/or Putonghua) is an advantage
  • Polished interpersonal and communication skills to interact with people in a multicultural environment
  • Sound problem solving, planning and organisation skills with ability to independently manage and prioritise multiple tasks with defined time constraints
  • An assertive, self-assured and patient team-player who can always exercise a high level of professionalism and sound judgement
  • High proficiency in MS office suites is essential.
