At Newtimes, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced design and product development teams, explore emerging trends, and contribute to collections for the US market. We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and commercially minded Assistant Fashion Designer / Fashion Designer to join our team and support the development of exciting apparel collections.

What You'll Do

• Support the design and development of apparel collections from trend research through product execution

• Conduct fashion trend, color, fabric, trim, and market research to identify relevant product opportunities

• Assist in translating design concepts into technical sketches, specifications, and production-ready packages

• Develop mood boards, color palettes, and presentation materials to communicate seasonal design directions

• Collaborate closely with merchandising, product development, vendors, and factories throughout the development process

• Support sample development, fittings, and product refinement to ensure design intent and commercial viability

• Adapt designs and specifications for mass production while maintaining product quality and aesthetic standards

• Assist with additional design projects and initiatives as assigned

  
  

What We're Looking For

• Diploma or above in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related discipline

• 2+ years of relevant experience in fashion design, product development, or garment trading; exposure to the US market is preferred

• Strong fashion sense with a good understanding of market trends and consumer preferences

• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; experience with 3D design software such as CLO or Browzwear is an advantage

• Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, product development processes, and technical drawings

• Familiarity with graphic design and print development is a plus

• Positive attitude, strong willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment

• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese

• Candidates with less experience may be considered for the Assistant Fashion Designer position
