Job Responsibility
Trade coverage: Middle East/ Africa / Indian subcontinent
Establish & maintain general and specialized ocean freight rates for the trades specified.
Handle RFQ/Tenders sent by the networks and agent in related trades.
Act as escalation point on carrier or consolidator operational issues when needed (e.g., space, equipment, rates etc.)
Manage service contracts related to the responsible trades.
Establish and maintain good relationships with carriers, overseas agents and vendors.
Negotiate the best pricing and terms & conditions (e.g., drop-off or free time with carriers and consolidators to improve and ensure competitiveness and achieve company revenue & profit margin.
Provide visibility of FCL rates for analysis of pricing market trends in a timely manner.
Monitor and achieve the growth target in the responsible trades in volume as well as GM and TEU.
Monitor and achieve the core carrier strategy and MQC compliance.
Establish own consol box network.
Interact with internal parties such as sales, customer service and operations to formulate the pricing strategy with quality.
Create specialized service products.
Share ocean products information and market intelligence.
Participate in and support regional ocean team projects
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics or other related discipline.
Minimum 6-8 years of work experience in carrier management or other related support functions in logistics or freight forwarding industry.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Mature, pleasant, good team player and detail minded.
Able to handle multiple tasks and work independently.
