Part-time Research Officer / Assistant Research Officer
School of Graduate Studies

The appointee will be involved in a research project lead by Professor Eric TH CHAN, Assistant Professor in the School of Graduate Studies (https://scholars.ln.edu.hk/en/persons/tak-hin-eric-chan). The research project aimed at understanding how older adults in Hong Kong experience their neighbourhood surroundings through their senses, focusing on their sensory perceptions of the built environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct literature review
  • Help in arranging interviews with older adults living in Hong Kong
  • Support in conducting interviews
  • Perform qualitative data analyses
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)

Requirements
  • Preferred to hold a Bachelor’s degree or above in Geography, Urban Studies, Social Policy, Sociology, Psychology or related disciplines
  • Strong skills in qualitative research analysis tools such as NVivo
  • Good analytical, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • A good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese
  • The ability to work independently
  • Previous experience in undertaking qualitative research is highly preferred

Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.

Salary and Fringe Benefits
Commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointee is expected to meet the Project Investigator regularly to report the progress.
