Full job description

Join a dynamic team working on the world’s longest eco-shoreline, leading cutting-edge biodiversity surveys across Hong Kong’s diverse coastal habitats — including rocky shores, mangroves, and vertical seawalls. As part of multiple major government-funded projects, you will play a key role in our team monitoring coastal ecosystems, contributing to marine science communication, and supporting public engagement through outreach in schools and community spaces. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate in a supportive, diverse, and creative team with the chance to propose your own ideas.

Duties

  • Conduct ecological fieldwork and biodiversity surveys across multiple eco-shoreline sites;
  • Use innovative tools (e.g., AI-based image analysis, underwater cameras) to enhance biodiversity monitoring;
  • Contribute to educational initiatives, including public talks, school visits, and citizen science; and
  • Draft progress reports and assist in research outputs and publications.

Requirements

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree or above in Ecology/Environmental Science/Marine Biology, or a related field. Strong interest in coastal conservation, ability to work outdoors in field conditions, and good communication skills are essential. Experience with ecological fieldwork, biodiversity ID, outreach, or data processing will be an advantage.

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
