PHOTOGRAPHER

Black Sheep is a Hong Kong-based hospitality team founded in 2012 by Syed Asim Hussain, driven by his love of genuine hospitality, a zest for travel and discovering dining subcultures. Black Sheep curates distinct dining experiences that tell a story about a particular time, place, culture or cuisine, while celebrating the bounty of premium ingredients available both locally and from abroad. Always pushing boundaries, the group continues to expand rapidly within Hong Kong and beyond.

ROLE: 

At the heart of our in-house Design Team, the Photographer assumes a pivotal role in shaping the visual narrative of Black Sheep, responsible for creating captivating content spanning across branded materials, event coverage, informative documentaries and more. The Senior Photographer will oversee projects from concept to completion, skillfully coordinating each step meticulously while capturing the unique visual identity that defines Black Sheep.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Take ownership and demonstrate leadership in all aspects of photography, setting the standard for visual excellence and aligning every project with Black Sheep's distinctive vision and brand identity.
• Partner with the Head of Branding and Design to plan photography sessions, ensuring alignment with content, branding, and creative direction.
• Work closely with the Communications Team to capture images that accurately convey the intended message and theme.
• Spearhead on-site photography sessions, maintaining effective communication between Base Station and Operations teams.
• Assume responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of all photography equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
• Edit and enhance images during post-production, adhering to set deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Consult with the Founders to deeply understand the objectives and concepts behind project requirements.
• Stay informed about the latest industry and design trends, incorporating relevant insights into photography projects.
• Efficiently manage multiple photography projects, ensuring timelines and expectations are effectively met.

EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of four years of demonstrated expertise in photographic and video production.
• Bachelor’s degree in photography, Visual Arts, or equivalent degree/experience.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Lightroom, and Illustrator.
• Thorough understanding of photography techniques, composition, lighting, and editing.
• Additional experience in Graphic Design is considered an asset.
• Excellent written and spoken English. Proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin is a plus.
• Proactive attitude with exceptional multitasking abilities to excel in fast-paced environments.
• Keen attention to detail and a discerning eye for aesthetics.
• Strong communication skills, capable of clearly articulating ideas, designs, and suggestions.

Pay: $20,000.00 - $28,895.11 per month
