WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Yodo1 is looking for a Community-Social Media Manager to help build and grow thriving communities around a portfolio of new indie games published by Spicy Koala.
They will be responsible for cultivating authentic relationships with players, driving community growth, and ensuring our messaging resonates across multiple platforms throughout the game’s lifecycle from announcement through early development, to launch and beyond.

The ideal candidate is community-obsessed with deep hands-on experience managing communities, executing social outreach campaigns, and maintaining structured content calendars that align with go-to-market strategies and ongoing live service initiatives.

WHAT WE EXPECT

You will:
Community engagement and growth management

  • Act as the primary voice of the community internally, surfacing feedback, sentiment, and emerging trends.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and player-first culture across community platforms.

  • Manage and actively engage audiences across Discord, Reddit, and Steam Community Hub, including moderation, content posting, and relationship-building

  • Develop and execute initiatives that increase engagement, retention, and advocacy.

Social Media and outreach management

  • Conduct proactive outreach to fans and niche communities across, YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram.

  • Identify and collaborate with influencers, community leaders, and grassroots advocates.

  • Monitor conversations and trends to inform messaging and engagement strategy.

Content planning & execution

  • Plan, maintain, and execute structured content calendars that support key milestones such as announcements, launches, updates, and live events.

  • Coordinate messaging across channels to ensure consistency with go-to-market campaigns and live service roadmaps.

  • Partner with marketing, development, and publishing teams to align community messaging with product strategy.

  • Track and report performance metrics to optimize content and engagement efforts.

Go to marketing and live service campaign support

  • Support ongoing live operations with timely communication of updates, patches, and events.

  • Plan and execute community activations, such as AMAs, playtests, betas, and livestream events.

  • Manage community response during launches, updates, and high-traffic moments.

  • Contribute to crisis communication and reputation management when needed.

You must have:

  • Extensive experience in Community Management, Social Media Management, or Player Engagement within gaming or entertainment.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience managing Discord and Reddit communities at scale.

  • Proven track record executing social media and community outreach campaigns.

  • Experience planning and maintaining content calendars tied to marketing or live service initiatives.

  • Experience supporting or moderating livestreams or community streaming programs.

  • Experience collaborating effectively with game developers and cross-functional internal team members (marketing, development, creative services, influencer managers).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear, authentic, and player-centric voice.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

You might have:

  • Experience working on indie games or live service titles.

  • Familiarity with community moderation tools, bots, and analytics platforms.

  • Ability to analyze engagement data and translate insights into actionable strategies.

  • Experience supporting game launches or early access releases.

  • Experience with Steam and Twitch.

  • An understanding of player lifecycle management and community health metrics.

  • A background collaborating with influencers or content creators.

  • Basic knowledge of game development pipelines or publishing workflows.

  • Experience working with teams across different locations, cultures, and time zones.
