The Trainee role is a full time 24-month contract with Societe Generale where you will have access to a diverse range of training materials to help you succeed, covering various aspects of businesses, including but not limited to technical skills, leadership development, communication skills, client service and relationship management. To be eligible, please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of Trainee contract.

Responsibilities

1st year:

  • Familiarize yourself with the business line and desk activity
  • Learn about Asian market specificities and products traded on the desk
  • Assist the desk on daily report production and analysis
  • Run simple tasks related to the desk day to day activity

2nd year:

  • Grow understanding of the desk specific risk and workload to propose automation and solutions
  • Increase contribution to the desk well functioniong by extending the involvement to our daily activity
  • Look for opportunities on the desk scope by screening flows, news, and market levels

Candidates with outstanding performance will be considered for early conversion to permanent roles.

Profile required

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Graduate’s degree in Engineering, Computing, Finance or Economics
  • Graduates with some working experience gained from other sectors are also welcomed
  • Proficient in Python / VBA
  • Proactivity and rigor are essential
  • Fluent in English is mandatory
  • Fluent / Advanced in Mandarin is a plus

Department Description

At Societe Generale, you will be joining the Global Markets division (MARK) of SG Corporate and Investment Banking. MARK offers across-asset approach along all its offerings: Research, Investment & Risk Management Solutions, Execution and Prime Services to asset managers, pension funds, companies, private banks, insurance companies, hedge funds, family offices, sovereign funds and distributors worldwide.

The Synthetic Trading desk is a trading team belonging to the EQD/PRIME business line within the Global Banking & Investor Solutions division.
