Operations Associate - Leading Hedge Fund | Hong Kong

I am partnering with a well‑established, high‑performing hedge fund in Hong Kong seeking an exceptional Operations Associate to join its growing platform.

This is a broad, high‑exposure role offering direct interaction with investment, finance, and external counterparties. The successful candidate will sit at the core of the firm’s infrastructure, supporting a multi‑asset investment strategy within an institutional‑grade operating environment.

The Role

Fund Operations

  • Oversee daily trade lifecycle management across asset classes, including confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation
  • Liaise closely with prime brokers, custodians, administrators, and counterparties to ensure seamless operational flow
  • Partner with the fund administrator on NAV oversight, cash management, and month‑end close processes
  • Proactively identify and resolve trade breaks, fails, and discrepancies
  • Maintain robust operational controls, records, and internal reporting frameworks
  • Support onboarding of brokers, counterparties, and investor accounts (documentation, KYC/AML, compliance coordination)
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and operational compliance matters
  • Contribute to ongoing process enhancement and infrastructure optimisation initiatives

Finance & Administrative Oversight

  • Manage firm‑wide expense processing and reconciliations
  • Oversee end‑to‑end reimbursement workflows in accordance with internal policy
  • Handle accounts payable/receivable, including coordination with legal, audit, technology, and other service providers
  • Support annual audit and tax processes through documentation and data collation
  • Maintain confidential documentation and structured filing systems
  • Research Operations Support
  • Coordinate earnings call schedules and distribute relevant information to the investment team in a timely manner

Required Experience

  • 1-5 years’ experience in fund operations, prime brokerage, fund administration, or financial services
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, and the trade lifecycle
  • Excel skills; familiarity with Bloomberg or similar systems
  • Highly detail‑oriented, organized, and process‑driven
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to operate autonomously in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capability

Desirable - but not a deal breaker

  • Prior hedge fund or asset management experience
  • Exposure to OTC derivatives, swaps, or fixed income products
  • Familiarity with fund accounting and administrator reconciliation workflows
  • Experience with OMS/PMS platforms (e.g., Advent, Geneva, Enfusion, Broadridge)
